📍Don’t count on solo travel apps

There are many solo travel apps out there but don’t rely on them to find friends. I have used some and didn’t find them very helpful because most people would just message you without any plans to visit the same destinations as me and there were many weird older men messaging younger women. I’ve found the best way to meet people is just to talk to people in person or message people on Hostelworld or social media.

📍Don’t make a strict itinerary

Solo traveling can be tiring and it’s more fun and relaxing to leave some open space in your itinerary so you can spontaneously do whatever you feel like doing!

📍Go on free walking tours

This is one of the best way to get to know a new city and meet other travelers

📍Try to book hostels with kitchens

Kitchens are obviously great for saving money on food but cooking in a hostel kitchen is also a great way to meet other travelers and start chatting with them.
