A few years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. It was a very difficult few years and I was really unhealthy. I struggled to keep any food in and I was severely anemic, weak and incredibly anxiety ridden

It was a shocking diagnosis but after I let it settle in I really took it upon myself to make healthier choices. I can honestly say that I am stronger, more energized and happier now post diagnosis but it all started with the pain of being really sick 🥹

💕These are the 3 main ways I became healthier and happier in my 30s 💕

1️⃣ Valuing my health: this was a big step for me. Unfortunately for me I had to become sick to really start to value my health and well-being. It was from this starting point of feeling terrible that I began to see that nothing is more important than my health.

2️⃣ Clean eating: I really believe in eating as many Whole Foods as possible. Veggies, grains and lean protein work best for me! But I also believe that each body is unique and there’s no set diet that works best for everyone. We all need to discover what works best for us.

3️⃣ Daily movement: I wasn’t that passionate about working out in my 20s. I sporadically worked out but nothing consistent. As I evolved on my healing journey I realized how important it is for mind and body to move every single day. I prefer a mix of gentle cardio, yoga, pilates and some resistance training. I like group fitness classes and mini workout “snacks” at home. Ultimately it’s just very important to me to stay consistent. So I try to play out my workouts to make sure I’m maintaining that consistency.
