NEW GRAD RESUME THAT GOT ME A ~$100K JOB

With resumes, there is a recipe for success! 📝

More often than not, you must first pass through the ATS system, which rates your resume based on how likely it thinks you meet the requirements of the open role. Once you pass that, you may go on to having your resume be looked at by a real human — HR or the hiring manager.

I’m a huge advocate for trying to get referrals because it can usually bypass the ATS stage, but in this case I cold applied to the job on LinkedIn.

It didn’t have a ton of applicants and I applied super early compared to when it was posted. To my surprise? I actually DIDNT get the job.

However, the team had another role they were about to open to the public and let me interview for it before anyone else. And I ended up getting that one.

My base was ~$90K and I had lots of benefits like equity and insurance that bumped my total compensation to nearly $100K per year.

Resumes are very powerful tools that, if done right, can communicate a lot about you, your skills and interests, and your potential. Practice and learn to do it right, especially if you’re looking for a job right now!
