I can’t be the only one who finds it frustrating when job sites like LinkedIn and Indeed show open roles requiring 5+ years of experience when you clearly filtered for “Entry Level” listings…

This was such a HUGE pain point for me when job searching, not just post-grad looking for my first gig, but also as a college student looking for internships and part-time positions. But now that I’ve gone through the process and came out on the other side, I wanted to share the job boards that are the most student and new grad friendly for those looking to launch their career with a cool opportunity that doesn’t require tons of experience:

- Handshake: If there is one job board you use as a student or new grad, let it be this one! The cool thing about this platform is that it allows employers to choose target schools they’d like to hire from, which means if you see a listing you know you have a good chance at landing the role. Not only that, but most roles are internship or entry level, meaning no hassle to find positions that don’t require experience!

- WayUp: This job site is also specially curated for college students and recent graduates, and it uses the information from your profile to “match” you with jobs you might be most qualified for or interested in.

- Chegg Internships: Being a leader in the EdTech world, Chegg’s internship site is great for looking up internships and entry level roles across the U.S., however I highly recommend still using other job boards and company websites to ensure you don’t miss any notable opportunities – this platform doesn’t seem to be updated super often.

- Indeed: Great job board for finding local opportunities, especially ones at smaller businesses in your area that are hybrid or in person. For fully remote roles and/or roles at large, competitive companies, I recommend looking on the companies’ sites or LinkedIn.

- LinkedIn: Although LinkedIn can be difficult to use to find true entry-level jobs that don’t require experience, it is a great tool for networking and actually landing jobs. It has features that allow you to see current employees at a company, which can guide networking and result in referrals if you take the right steps. This platform has so many opportunities and useful tools to gauge your qualifications!

Have you used any of these? Any more to add to this list?
