LIVING IN NYC IN YOUR 20S

Navigating living in a huge city can be hard, especially at a young age. Here are some of the things that I’ve learned this summer that I’ve made living in New York City, the most enjoyable. ❤️

getting dressed up to try new restaurants is my all-time favorite activity. Call me a Grandma but I would much rather do this than go out to a club on any night. TIP: I have found that the small, random restaurants are usually better than the huge trendy ones.

I have had so much fun dating in the city this summer. I don’t take it too seriously I just enjoy meeting new people and of course a free dinner or drinks. Try to be lighthearted about dating in New York. There’s a lot of fish in the sea which means most of them will be just mediocre.

Explore other neighborhoods! The West Village is my happy place and although I don’t live there, I try to go on walks their weekly because it just fills my soul with so much joy.

Bumble BFF has allowed me to create so many new friends in the city. Friendship dates are so fun because we all love a good girl talk session. It’s just like dating- don’t take it too seriously.

Sometimes it can feel like everyone goes out at least three nights a week in the city. This just isn’t true and if you let the pressure get to you, it can be exhausting. If you’d rather stay in and have a glass of wine, then do it.

Finally, remember that everyone’s on their own equally important path. There are some 20 year olds here making millions and some that are just figuring it out day by day. Wherever you fall on that spectrum is equally as important as anyone else’s journey.
