These are some things that’ve helped me perfect my RDL and stop feeling it in my back and also common mistakes I’ve made!

Common mistakes:

-Going down too far with the weight

-Hunching over (thinking of it as a up and down movement instead of back and forth)

-Weights too heavy

Tips to remember:

-Hinge at the hips (think closing a car door with your booty)

-Squeeze lats (think squeezing lemons in your armpits)

-Bend at the knees

-Neck following the chest

-Keep your back straight

Practice makes perfect! Use light weight to perfect your form before increasing the weight. If it helps to perform them in front of the mirror or record it to see what you can fix next time you do them!

RDL’s are amazing for the glutes and hamstrings but if done correctly!
