Resting is productive

Our society is obsessed with being productive and constantly being on the go. Between jobs, families, friends, home life, hobbies and all the other responsibilities of being an adult, sometimes we can forget to slow down and take time for ourselves. One thing I have always struggled with is ALLOWING myself time to rest, and not feel completely guilty for “wasting my time” or “doing nothing”. I used to constantly feel worthless if I took any time for myself to rest.

But rest is IMPORTANT. And ultimately rest is productive in itself. We need to allow time for our bodies and minds to rest and recharge, otherwise we’ll suffer major burnout. If we don’t set aside time for ourselves to rest, our bodies will do it for us.

Give yourself a break! Take some time today to treat yourself, and set aside time to do some self care.
