Freshman Dorm Needs

Packing for freshman year of college is probably one of the most stressful situations ever. Especially if you’re going to school far away like I did. I had no idea what I was going to need or what I was not going to need.

Here are a few things I ended up needing my freshman year of college 😁

1.) Steamer 🌫️

If you’re anything like me, you HATE wrinkly clothes. Having a steamer compared to an iron is so much easier to use and takes up less space.

2.) Batteries 🔋

If you’re taking anything that needs batteries, buy the batteries before you get to school.

3.) Printer 📠

My school made you pay for printing. This was sooo annoying because I prefer having printed docs rather than using online docs. Having your own printer also allows you to save the trip to the library just to print something.

4.) Earplugs 🎧

I lived on the first floor of my building. There were 3 floors above me and let’s just say whoever lived above me, were very active in the middle of the night. I seriously had to wear headphones and listen to music just to fall asleep. Save yourself the trouble and get a pair of earplugs.

5.) Step-stool 🛏️

Honestly, this depends on the room. I had a shelf in my room that had my TV on it and having a stool just made it easier for me. I also put my bed up as high as it would go and without the stool, I had to do the awkward jump to get into bed.

6.) Sweeper 🧹

Originally I can to college with a broom…. That lasted me about a week before I had to go buy a sweeper. I just got a super small one off Amazon and it lasted me all 3 years of undergrad.
