Seoul’s Public Transport Guide 🚆

Getting around Seoul through their Public Transportation System is relatively easy and convenient! Here’s a short guide on how to get around different parts of Seoul using different mode of public transport.

Before anything, remember to get their T Money Card, which is Korea’s version of EZLink cards, it allows you to take any form of Public Transport and use it to pay for stuff like Taxis or at the convenience stores! You can get them at any convenience stores and train stations with different and nice designs for each one! Depending on how long you stay in Korea you can get their newly introduced Climate Cards which offer unlimited rides on Public Transport for a fixed price!

Subway: 🚝

One of the most convenient ways to get around Seoul is by using their Subway system as it goes to most major touristy areas like Myeongdong, Hongdae, Seoul Station Dongdaemun etc and it is easy to switch from one line to the other with the number of different lines they have on their subway system. A ride on the subway system normally cost about 1400 won but could be more depending on the distance!

Bus: 🚌

The buses in Seoul are divided into different lines based on what areas they serve and where they connect to. There are buses that serves the downtown area, those that connect to major subway stations, express buses etc. These are divided into different colours for you to identify them easily!

Use Apps like Kakao Metro & Naver Maps to find the best route for you to take on the train or the bus! Use this guide to understand their public transportation system better!
