Even Better than DTF? Eat this Over DTF in Taiwan!

If you’re a fan of Din Tai Fung, or want to look for good Chinese food in Taiwan, specifically in Taichung City. Serving very good and authentic Shanghainese cuisine, in a very authentic Chinese setting, a good spot to settle your lunch/dinner. Getting the Michelin Bib for 2 consecutive years, 2020-2022, and crowned as the “must-visit” store by people, this place really lived up to expectations. 🤩

🚘 Getting There

It’s located near the Taichung railway train station, so definitely very accessible. It’s also a turn away from the famous ice cream speciality store - Miyahara 宫原眼科, so a good plan is to eat lunch/dinner here and then head over for some amazing desserts! 💯

🔼 Reservation

I didn’t make a reservation before heading in, but I went in with 2 pax on a weekday, and was given a seat pretty quickly. If you’re going with a bigger group, or on a weekend, I would recommend you to make a reservation by calling, or just going earlier! 🫡

💭 Overall, the dishes here are indeed very similar to the ones served in Din Tai Fung, but with a more elevated taste. The prices here are very reasonable, so worth every penny. Definitely recommend sharing the dishes and get to try more stuff. 👍🏻
