Missing Taiwan night market food, try Xi Men Jie !

Kept this in my drafts for a while 😅 but I finally decided not to continue gatekeeping one of my fav places to go when I’m craving Taiwan food!

Xi Men Jie is a restaurant that serves awesome taiwan food which are both affordable and yummy 😋

Every time I’m missing Taiwan food, snacks or even bbtea I’ll definitely go there to satisfy my cravings

Top 3 must order dishes 🥇🥈🥉@ Xi Men Jie

1. Shredded chicken mee sua

(Best to eat when ur feeling under the weather 🤧 or during a rainy day ⛈️) (imo it tastes even better if u add pepper as it enhances the taste)

Regular:$6.50

Large:$7.50

2. Fried shiitake mushroom 🍟 $6

(Amazing savoury snack! As a mushroom lover, I like it so much as despite it being fried, it still manages to retain the moisture so it’s not dry and hard )

3. Braised Pork Rice 🍚

(There is a good meat to fat ratio, the pickled vege on the side makes it not overly jelak which pulls the whole dish tgt making it yummy)

For the drinks, I personally recommend the passion fruit boba tea (R:$3.90) and the brown sugar boba fresh milk (R:$4) as I feel that both is not overly sweet and not overpriced unlike a lot of bbtea shops 🫣
