Haunted Houses

🏰Under the Castle by Team Wang design

- ratings: 🎃🎃🎃/5

- imo, one of the better haunted houses this year but I guess it’s how you assess a haunted house because I saw a lot of reviews that mention this was the most underwhelming one

- I liked the fact that at the entrance we had to “enter” the castle and there was a literal bridge!! (& it was scary because we became the first ones to go and there’s a little surprise 🫢)

- very well-designed with illusion aspects that hide the actors really well

- scariest part for me: there were a room full of medieval armoured soldiers that were quite tall and i really didn’t know which one was gonna move + we were up-close and personal🤣

🧟Netflix’s Sweet Home

- ratings: 🎃🎃🎃/5

- I haven’t watched this netflix show before so I’m just basing off the set design and scare aspect

- in terms of scariness, I went into this with pretty low expectations just because previously the netflix-inspired houses weren’t very scary

- set design was cool and detailed (such as a drink fridge with korean labelled drinks - someone was saying “ask how much is the milkis”🤣)

- main character’s evolution was seen throughout the house

- other than the main character, the other scare actors were just normal zombies🤣which wasn’t that scary

📜Cursed Scrolls: Dynasty of Darkness

- 🎃🎃🎃🎃/5

- I really really liked the set design of this house, designs were really unique and elaborate that I kept going “wow” 🤣 (I was more amused than scared honestly)

- usage of 3D glasses was super cool for certain sections but for certain areas that were pitch black, i really couldn’t see anything with it on😵‍💫

- most memorable sections for me were the gentlemonster room (I called it that because it seemed like a gentlemonster showroom HAHA it was very furry) and bouncy floors (this was just straight up fun rather than scary, i was just busy bouncing)

🔪Singapore’s Most Haunted: The Killings

- 🎃🎃/5

- I actually expected this to be the scariest because one of the years they did a local themed house and it was very scary but imo this year’s one was a little underwhelming.

- iirc, I think it wasn’t as scary as the other houses because a lot of their scare actors were visible and you can more or less know whether they are real or not

- however, i really like the use of the incense smell to alleviate the scary atmosphere

Scare Zones

🛖Lost Kampung

- 🎃🎃🎃🎃/ 5

- honestly pretty scary, the scare actors will rush up to you (up close and personal🤣)

- but when we were there, the scare actors were following right behind a group of girls so they did not entertain us🤣

- and I think we went in at the wrong and right(?) time, the scare actors just ended resting and as we were passing by the gate, all of them came out at once and started scaring us 😵‍💫 (this happened at the Vampire alley as well😵‍💫)

🧛Vampire Alley

- 🎃🎃🎃🎃/5

- honestly, imo it’s quite scary for a scare zone

- It’s also quite creative that they used the shipping containers to create small indoor areas apart from the outdoor areas, which really made it feel like a whole house by itself

- the most terrifying part for me was inside of the shipping containers because there were body bags hanging which was blocking my view and I couldn’t see where the scare actor was going to pop out

- they were also using the barrels to create loud noises

🎩Nether-land

- 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃/5

- this scare zone and the live show (Ocu.lar’s Rave) are somewhat in the same area

- very lively area with a live DJ and scare actors that are really good at dancing 👍🏼

- it’s basically clubbing with the scare actors

- additionally, there’s also a Tiger-Soju stand, which you can get your alcohol fix (drink responsibly) and get SURE-WIN lucky draws!

🚦Ocu.lar’s Rave

- it’s somewhat together with the Nether-land scare zone so can refer to the top!

- ⏰ I’ve included the timings in one of the photos!

👻Night Terrors

- 🎃🎃/5

- imo, I think the projection visuals this year weren’t that suited for the castle in the far away land

- I recall one of the years when the projections were nicely designed to complement the shape of the castle

- ⏰ every 30 mins from 8.30pm onwards! (I’ve included a picture on it as well!)

🌪️Dark Dreams

- 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃/5

- I lovedddd this show

- I like how they incorporated one of the best concert openings to theirs (hint: ts~🫢)

- additionally, they also used gen z/alpha slangs at the start which was pretty hilarious

- the different segments in the show were very entertaining, paired with cool visuals and a good use of 😉surprising elements (SO GOOD, it was LITERALLY jaw-dropping iykyk HAHA)

- ⏰as for the timings for the show, I couldn’t find much info online or when I was walking around (maybe I didn’t look properly🤣💀), but when I asked the staff at around 9.45pm, she told me the last two shows were at 10.15pm and 12am
