My obsession with BL

Sharing my guilty pleasure for the past many years… BL! Types of BL you can binge~

💓Original web novels

- Need to be able to read Chinese characters

- Best (imo) cuz it’s the original source material

- I even bought a Kobo to enhance my reading experience (gentle on the eyes 👀)

- Can find the txt files from google/baidu (dmxs is one useful site) or official sources like JJWXC.

- English translation for famous novels can all be found easily on google (many fans doing god’s work out there)

💓 Drama adaptations

- See the story come to life

- Plot likely will be heavily changed to adapt to censorship laws (which I am okay with… I enjoy finding the differences between the novel and the drama)

- Everyone has different preferences for eyecandy… so if they use actors that I don’t find appealing usually will not watch the drama

- Usually free on streaming sites or if you don’t mind, just need to subscribe to the paid streaming apps for better quality videos (iQiyi, VIU, Youku, Gagaoolala, Netflix…)

💓 Audio dramas 广播剧

- Usually very close adaptation to the source material and high quality

- Not my favourite as audio dramas does not engage my eyes (but you can always read the 弹幕 to entertain yourself while listening)

- Apps like 猫耳FM or similar. Official apps usually need to pay to unlock each drama/episode but it’s not expensive

💓Manhwa 漫画

- Usually quite/somewhat close to source material

- Have to wait quite long per chapter cuz the artist need time to draw (unless you are only looking for completed works)

- Apps like bilibili, Lezhin or similar but need to pay per chapter, there are lots of free sites that load the manhwa out there just that you have to deal with annoying ads

💓 Fanfics

- AO3… Lofter… need I say more? Hahaha

💓Some stuff that I enjoy and rarely see people recommend

- The Ghost Nocturne 🔞 (korean webtoon)

- Mr. Dior 迪奥先生 (manhwa & novel both 👍🏻)

- Kaleidoscope of Death 死亡万花筒 (love the plot twist at the end)

- The Spirealm 致命游戏 (best novel to drama adaption imo)

- 我喜欢你男朋友很久了 (audio drama & novel both 👍🏻)

I don’t really see many posts related to BL on this zesty app 🍋 but I know there are loads of BL fans out there! Maybe I’ll also share random #BookReview of good webnovels I’ve been addicted
