1) They only talk about themselves

They'll take any chance that they can get to talk about themselves and don't show interest in your life.

You feel that you can not confine them when you are faced with problems too.

2) They pressure you into doing things you don't like

Peer pressure isn't just an issue that affects everyone, and toxic friends will pressure you into saying or doing something you don't want because it may benefit them.

"Let's say they're trying to pressure you into doing something that's out of character ... like drinking more than you want to or dating someone you wouldn't date normally or opening up about something you don't feel ready to share. A toxic friend will find a way to minimize those values," said Aybar-Jacobs.

3) They are talking about other friends behind their backs

If they are doing that to other friends, who's to say their not doing the same to you.
