“OMG WOW” — those are the very words I blurted out after my first bite of the Ravioli because it’s THAT HEAVENLY.

If y’all haven’t heard of 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹 yet, you are fr missing out because this place is the hottest French cafe in town right now (BESTIE WYD???) 🥹

With all three outlets located in central Singapore (namely Tiong Bahru, Club Street & Orchard Road), it’s definitely one of the more accessible and convenient cafes out there (no need to grab eh!!! save money HAHAHA) 🫶🫶

As usual, I’ll be splitting this review into sections for easy reading:

If Love, Bonito opened a restaurant, I believe this would be its interior HAHAHA. Okay jokes aside, this place is an absolute beauty! Every corner of Merci Marcel is IG worthy I’m not even lying (just scroll through the pictures) 😵

Apart from being IG worthy, the interior and vibe was also really welcoming— as though I’m stepping into a BTO of someone who spent at least $100K on the renovations (sorry been watching too many interior design videos LOLOL) 😬

Menu-wise, it was rather extensive but somehow, it seems like the dinner menu had more mains compared to the daytime menu 😋 I also liked how they had multiple menus for different mealtimes because it makes me want to visit again to try the other menus!! 🤍

OH AND the cheese section of the menu really stood out to me so I’ll definitely be back to try it :P

🥩 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻-𝗙𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳 ($𝟯𝟮)

The beef was pretty firm upon the first bite but the inside was tender and juicy! But I personally felt that the homemade fries stole the show because it was so SOOO crispy on the exterior yet so soft on the interior 🤤🤤

Also, if you love hollandaise sauce, you’ll love the béarnaise sauce that is served on the side!

🐓 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 ($𝟮𝟴)

It was my first time trying mafaldine, a ribbon-shaped pasta and it definitely will not be my last!!! 😩 I loved how well it went with the blue-foot mushroom cream sauce (no worries, there’s no actual foot in it) which was so rich and creamy, just the way I like it 😚😚

Also, to my surprise, the chicken breasts (the round things in the pasta) were really tender! My impression of chicken breasts was always “tough and dry” lol 🙃

Btw the mushroom taste is damn strong so if you don’t like mushrooms, please opt for something else 😃

🧀 𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗻𝘀 ($𝟮𝟬, 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹)

Last but not least, the star of the show 🤩 Let’s be honest, how often do you see ravioli on a restaurant/cafe’s menu? Even if you do, how often does it taste good? 🥹

My impression of ravioli hasn’t always been the best because I’ve tried a few that tasted quite eek and sometimes, they overcook the ravioli and the contents ‘explode’ 🤢

But we decided to give Merci Marcel a shot (since a lot of people were raving about it) and ordered their Ravioles de Royans — a French dumpling pasta filled with Tête de Moine cheese.

And that, my friends, was the best decision we’ve ever made.

The cheese used in the ravioli was creamy and tasted a little similar to sour cream! It also lowkey reminded me of ikea’s vegetable medallion but in pasta form HAHAHA. Oh and please order a large portion if you’re having this as a main!! The small portion was actually really small…😪

Apart from the food, the hospitality was also top-notch! From the start till the end of our meal, we were hosted by such a wonderful and knowledgeable team 🫶

If I could give this place a 100/10 rating, I would 😳 HAHAHA I hope you’ll love Merci Marcel as much as I do!
