As interior designers/project managers, we wear a lot of hats so sometimes our day can look quite different from the previous one!
This one’s more of a project manager edition, where I would run sites that are ongoing, do photoshoots for finished projects and run errands for upcoming projects (usually material selection errands).
My day would look like this 2 to 3 times a week, while other days will comprise doing design work, drawings and detailings in the day, and having client meetings at night etc.
Here goes…
8:00 AM // Rise and shine. I don’t really eat breakfast cos I feel like my body’s not yet awake enough to digest food 😌 but I do drink a cup of warm lemon water when I first wake, and then a cup of morning coffee. I usually use this time to reply to texts from both clients and contractors.
9:00 AM // Get ready; drive over to the first site of the day.
10:00 AM // Arrive at first site of the day for site checks. Sometimes there’s 2 or 3 sites to cover for that day, as there are works ongoing which the workers need specific onsite instructions, eg carpentry and electrical works.
11:30 AM // Run the second site of the day, meet contractors there to run through important details of the work.
1:00 PM // Lunch is usually someplace nearby. I’m making it a point to eat at more regular hours also - lunch hours can get quite late on some days especially when site problems occur and overrun, causing a delay in the rest of the work schedule for the day.
3:00 PM // Photoshoot time - it’s a scheduled shoot with my photographer, which involves a lot of styling and adhoc photos/videos that I usually post on Stories at @februarynest
5:30 PM // Run errands. This one’s picking the exact shade of forest green for an upcoming project at Benjamin Moore.
7:00 PM // Drive home to prepare a simple, quick dinner for both the hubs and myself! We usually eat and watch Netflix tgt and wind down for the night 😴
That’s it! This is actually quite a good day 😆 If you’ve any questions or are keen to become an interior designer, feel free to ask here or DM ✨
