Didn’t think I’d be a victim of fakes on carousell

Well, TLDR, I decided to PO a goyard on Carousell, the seller seemed to have biz verified and a couple of decent reviews with multiple luxury listings. The price was also decently legit? Like if it was mad cheap it’d have been obvious?

I received the item and compared with my current Goyard - it was fake. But tbh, I couldn’t tell from the start, I had to look at it very thoroughly as it didn’t seem that fake at first. People who don’t have the original might find it hard to compare.

- came in a box with cards, paper bag etc

- receipts (I started to become sus bcos it looked so pixelated so I asked for the original which seller said she would send me the following month)

- had to scrutinise the printing and embossed logo to confirm.

When I told the seller it was clearly a fake, she kept insisting it was a QC issue and asked for a week to refund me or I’d consider an exchange WTH!! Which I totally dont unds why she continued to play along. I didn’t know lux boutiques accept refund for QC issues?? 🤯

Anyway, I’m glad I got my refund and learnt from this not to pre order on carousell anymore.

The other lesson is, carousell is useless and is not doing anything to take down this listing or seller. They’ve told me I’ve to liaise with the seller and since she agreed to refund, they’re not doing anything. I’ve pushed them again on this and making the platform as safe space for buyers. I can’t believe they’ve given me this stupid response and can’t take this seller down esp when it’s a verified seller.
