Have you tried WFH in a virtual office?🤓

Hi zesties!!

Currently my company still has a few WFH days so on our WFH days we report to work in our “virtual office” instead!🤓 It looks like a game setup right!! But it’s actually a website/app called “Gather” which is mainly used for remote working!

There are different common areas such as work pods, meeting rooms, dining tables etc! During meal times we actually have to walk over to the dining table to indicate that we’re having our lunch so other colleagues won’t come over to us to discuss stuff haha. Of course the most fun part is decorating our own avatars and desk! As you can tell i put alot of effort into mine😂

In the virtual office, anyone can walk over to you to talk to you at any time so it really mimics the real life setting! When we enter common gathering areas like meeting rooms etc we get to share screen with each other to facilitate discussions etc:)

I’m glad that post-covid, employers are more open to wfh arrangements! Honestly for some job scopes where most tasks are done individually/only some tasks are jointly done, wfh on some days makes sense cos we get to save alot on transport time (and fares)!! Hopefully in future more employers are open to such flexi arrangements!🙌
