Next banchan is the Quail Egg Jangjorim. It’s one of my childhood sidedishes where you can just easily eat it with rice. It’s sweet and savory and soysauce based! You can adjust the sweetness vs savory flavours but for me I took the balanced taste one. Trust me, you are going to thank me later.

Without further ado, here is the recipe!

Quail Egg Jangjorim

Ingredients

>quail eggs 270g

>water(1/2 cup)

>soysauce(6 TB)

>sugar(2 TB)

>corn syrup(2 TB)

>Mirin(2 TB)

Step by Step

> wash the quail eggs and then put them in a pot

> put about a cup of water, 6TB soysauce, 2TB mirin, 2 TB sugar, and minced garlic.

> boil the pot

> once it boils, put it on medium heat until some of the sauce evaporates.

> take out the quail eggs ( they should be light brown colored)

> sprinkle sesame seed on top

How to eat it?

> You can eat it stand alone or eat it as a side. I usually get rice and pour some of the jangjorim soysauce on top of the rice and eat the eggs with it. It’s super good!
