Is Misfits Market grocery delivery worth it?! 🛒

Misfits Market is a grocery delivery service that “rescues” produce and other goods that either don’t have the correct look to be sent to grocery stores, getting close to expiration, are excess inventory or had packaging changes.

When shopping on the site you are given a delivery day based on your location and are allowed to see available items only about the week before your weekly delivery. You can also skip a delivery but it will always come on the same day. They also have packaging return so they can recycle your cold item bag, ice pack and bubble wrap!

Once my delivery came everything was packaged very nicely and nothing was broken or leaking. Everything seemed like normal goods besides the potatoes being in the small/skinny side!

The Bad: The main con is that since these are rescued items things may come past their expiration date (but can be frozen). My Birria meat was expired but thankfully still frozen and my bag of potatoes had molded. Thankfully it is very easy to get your money back for any items that you’re not satisfied with. I also thought it would be a bit cheaper for the groceries but many items seemed about the same as grocery store prices. The total for my order was $76 (I had a $20 off coupon) and still had to run to the actual grocery store to pick up items that they didn’t sell online.

Overall I’ll probably order from them a few more times to see how things go! I love the goal of Misfits Market but I do wish I could choose more options for my delivery day to avoid having to go back to the store while I wait!
