[TAICHUNG] Last minute hotel choice 🥰

I booked Calligraphy Greenway Hotel Taichung 草悟道文旅 within 24 hours of a last minute plan to head to Taichung to meet a friend and pick up sunflower biscuits. Unlike many others, I prefer buttery sunflower biscuits over pineapple biscuits any day. And I'm willing to make that train ride down for it.

It's not within the usual areas that tourists hit up near the old Taichung Railway Station, this hotel is in the West District nearer to the artsy scene of Taichung. Head to Calligraphy Greenway Park on a weekend and you can see so many activities going on, like buskers with their own fan groups, pop up stalls, lots of cute doggos strolling.

The hotel is also right in front of 2 large shopping malls, local Taichung bbt shops and cool themed restaurants, like this large double Halloween restaurant just next to the park.

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐:

💰 Price: $$ (yes for 2 super single beds)

🤔 Cons: Waiting for lifts can take a while and limited waiting space in the lobby.

👍Why I like it:

•CLEAN, refurbished with lots of space. Lobby reception allows you to store your luggage there if you are getting to Sun Moon Lake overnight and if you are returning to the same hotel.

• Convenient to food, shopping, art scene.

• Uber stops right in front to drop you off.
