My First Diving Experience 🤿💙
I earned my OW (Open Water) certification, and it was an exhilarating journey!
Day 1 - I got professional diving training and attended theory classes.
Day 2 - In the sea, I learned how to use the diving equipment properly, control my breath, master descending and ascending techniques, and handle emergency situations 🆘
Diving truly challenges both the body and mind. I struggled as I wasn't used to breathing through the mouth. Using my nose caused my mask to fill with water 🫠
I found that didn't need too many sets of clothes, 2-3 sets were enough. The diving suit was always wet due to continuous dives. I brought a bikini for photo opportunities, but when the time came, I was too tired to pose 😆
👼🏻🥰 The instructor was my guardian angel underwater. I would get nervous when he swam away, but he constantly gestured to remind me to control my breathing, which reassured me. Otherwise, I would unintentionally float to the surface, unable to control myself! 🤣
Finally, I completed the diving and graduated 🎓
During fun dives with friends, I encountered a situation where I accidentally bumped into coral and got stuck 🪸 I was panicked, and water filled my mask. My mind went blank 🧠 I didn't know how to clear the mask or inflate my BCD to float up. In my panic, I even attempted to remove the mask, and that's when all the instructors rushed to my aid, helping me clear my mask and preventing me from getting decompression sickness (DCS) 😐
Though the diving experience presented challenges, it was filled with excitement and novelty. Before, I used to decline my friends' invitations for diving, but now I'm hooked and can't wait to explore more of the beautiful underwater world! 🐠🌊
The tranquility of the sea is incredibly relaxing. If I were to be reincarnated, I'd want to be a mermaid 🧜♀️🩵
(Note: "DCS" stands for decompression sickness, a condition that can occur in divers when they ascend too quickly after spending time at depth.)
