If you wanna try something different besides wanton/dumplings, try cabbage roll! Itβs a little tedious to make but itβs worth it π
Ingredients π:
- Mince meat (pork/beef)
- Cabbage
- White onion
How I marinate my meat π₯©:
- Salt or soy sauce
- Pepper
- Sesame Oil (a dash)
- Stir fried chopped white onion (optional - to make it sweeter)
- Cornflour or egg (I used cornflour)
Let the marinated meat rest in the fridge for around an hour.
How I prepare the cabbage π₯¬:
1. Boil a pot of water (add a little bit of salt) and prepare a bowl of ice water 2. Put a piece of cabbage in the water till soften (~1 to 2mins)
3. When cabbage soften, take out and soak it in the ice water and take it out after cabbage cool (~10sec)
4. Repeat for all piece of cabbage
5. After all cabbage are cooked, dry each piece with a paper towel.
It was pretty fun making it though it was a little complicated. I used 2 leaves to wrap as I tore my cabbage (so be very careful!) I let steam it for about 15-20mins till itβs cooked.
Some recipes that I have read online eats with tomato sauce which I didnβt add the sauce because my mum doesnβt like, but you can try!
