YOU KNOW WHAT IS MY FRIEND GROUP’S NUMBER ONE STRUGGLE?! finding an affordable restaurant with delectable dishes + nice atmosphere (air conditioned specifically) + HALAL certification 😭 and is it just me or are (halal) restaurants getting more and more bold with their menu pricing HUHHH ok la maybe im not the right person to say anything cos im a non muslim.. we all just started working with fresh grad salary ok let me live 🥲

so lemme put yall on Brunch Club by The Halal Corner

☑️ located near haji lane

☑️ good vibes (giving coastal cottage core)

☑️ air conditioned

☑️ decent prices (if you share with friends..)

☑️ generous portions

☑️ halal

☑️ yummy food

come on nowwwww people what more do you want

anyway my friends and i ate here TWICE on separate occasions because it’s That Good. at least to us!! the first time we visited, we ordered 2 mains, 1 side, 3 drinks and shared amongst 3 of us:

— apple wood smoked duck gigli • $26

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 4.5/5

it tasted WAY better on our second visit! the first time we tried it we felt that the flavour was lacking depth and we kinda got jelak of the taste.. the smoked duck pieces were GENEROUS tho i’m talking thick cut slices ooouuuuuuuuu girl

— pesto smoked salmon caserecci • $26

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 3.5/5

pesto sauce was yummy but my friends thought it was mediocre and that it tasted like mama lemon dish soap?! pasta was cooked al dante luvvvvv it however i felt that the salmon was kinda fishy, at first bite it was alright but the fishiness comes in after and it lingers in your mouth…

— tater tots with siracha cheese • $12

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 5/5

can’t go wrong with taters. siracha cheese was the right amount of oomph to spice things up. love that it was covered in a shredded parmesan(?) cheese too wowww they don’t play at all. so good for sharing

— ice lychee tea • $5

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 5/5

tbh my friends and i ordered this cos it’s one of the cheapest drink options that isn’t boring ass juice. but this was so refreshing idk maybe we were just thirsty af LOL but it was a nice palette cleanser/to wash our food down. comes with 2 lil lychee too for your bonus dessert lmao

the second time we came, we had 4 pax so we ordered 3 mains, 1 sides and 1 drink:

— signature brioche & truffle scrambled egg • $24

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 4/5

OMGGGGG ok hear me out i’m not a huge fan of truffle but this was chef’s kiss. the brioche was soft and buttery, and the fluffy scrambled egg omggggg when you bite into it, the fragrance of the truffle just bursts in your mouth. the flavour wasn’t overwhelming but the aroma is THERE. minus one point cos i was burping truffle the whole day and tbh i also find this kinda expensive hmmm

— signature chicken cordon bleu benedict • $22

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 5/5

this biatch is thicc. when i said they’re very generous with their portions, it’s because of this. my gawddd when the server placed this plate down, i was in shock. the size of this dish was menacing, threatening looking even. thick slice of brioche with an even thicker cutlet of chicken, bigger than what was shown in the picture on the menu and it was topped with 2 poached eggs, blanketed with parmesan. SIAOOOOOOO we devoured that shit up. you’d think the chicken would be dry but no, it was JUICY!!!! and the brioche was different from the truffle scrambled egg one, this one tastes a little more like garlic bread which i LOVEEEEE and the poached eggs are so sexily cooked

— apple wood smoked duck gigli • $26

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 4.5/5

compared to the first time we tried it, the second time was so much better. there is one thing that we were concerned about tho - there was oil floating around the circumference of the bowl. maybe that’s why there’s more flavour LOL ok la but if you’re not particular about it then just mix it in as much per normal. duck meat still sooooo generous 😍

— tater tots with siracha cheese • $12

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 5/5

tastes exactly the same as our first visit, nothing can go wrong with it.

— frothy teh tarik • $5.50 (not pictured)

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 2.5/5

only one of my friend ordered this but i managed to have a sip of it. three words: SI BEI SWEET!!!! sweetness is adjustable when ordering! i just didn’t expect it to be SO sweet… take note of this if you’re someone who can’t take too much sugar 😭😭 anyway it just tastes like a very rich (and sweet) teh tarik

anyway on our second visit i came with an empty stomach so i pretty much devoured everything except for the taters, and it filled me the whole day. overall i would say the food is value for money!! especially the chicken cordon bleu benedict 🤤 the service was also pretty good on the 2 separate occasions we visited! the servers were attentive to our table, offering sharing plates and condiments without us asking. btw the restaurant is pretty small, it sits probably max 30 people indoors and <10 outdoors so i suggest coming at 3-5pm on the weekends! to prevent disappointment i’d suggest making a reservation before heading down. my friends and i were lucky that there were still tables for us when we arrived
