Today I wanted Katsu chicken for brunch ! But to have it take out / delivery will be too long of a waiting time! So I look up in my fridge and decided to prepare it from scratch ! I do not have breadcrumbs but let me share you how to make your own bread crumb! Toast your white / wholemeal bread in the oven , not the toaster! Then let it cool and place the bread in one plastic bag and smash it with something heavy like a cup ~ there u have it , your homemade bread crumbs. Now you have the breadcrumbs, lets prepare the katsu chicken itself ! 😳
What you’ll need
Chicken/ beef ( meat of your choice )
Some salads as sides
Egg for extra protein
Steps
1.wash your preferred meat
2.marinate it ( I use soy sauce and honey ) keep in the fridge overnight
3.prepare 3 things - flour, egg and breadcrumbs
3.first , go through the flour first then egg lastly breadcrumbs, ( repeat this process twice for better crispier breaded meat )
4.heat a good amount of oil in a pan
5.start frying until golden brown
6.boil an egg & potato salad for that extra protein & carbs to keep you full throughout the day!
