I've been running my brand Epicgirl for 2 years on and off but I've SERIOUSLY grown a lot and learnt a lot of lessons. I'd like to really share it over here to anyone else who is in the same position as me! Especially if you're a creative

1. Do not doubt the worth of your work. THIS THIS THIS!!!!! This is something all my fellow girlbosses and I ALWAYS struggle with, and I struggled A LOT in finding out the worth of my art and how much things should be priced for. I can talk about this all day but I'll shorten it here. Starting off your shop, most of the time as a creative we undervalue our work. For me, I undervalued it for the longest time because I felt like art was just natural to me and it wasn't really "THAT HARD" to paint this top. But things that need to be taken into account is how many hours did you really spend making the top? How much do you pay yourself per hour? (And don't tell me it's under $10💀) Be proud of your art and your creations. If it's nice and you're proud of it,Just price it at what you really believe it's worth at. Don't think about target audience and making it affordable for them, because you do you first. And THEN you'll attract the right audience naturally. You also need to remember that starting a business you have extra costs like packaging, promotional shoots etc. i truly struggled at grasping this one concept for more than a year, but now I fully understand it

2. There will always be haters. Yep my work got shit on here and there especially with my new revised pricing. It always stings and rages me cuz especially as a creative your creations are personal af but there will always be people who wouldn't understand point 1 so let it be

3. Random people would give me advice and some of them made me so much more confused on point 1. Like for example people would tell me you shouldn't price this below this price or your target audience is students so keep it affordable... but at the same time i never said my target audience were who and who you know what I mean? But thank them anyway for the input but you need to just have a firm understanding of everything i said in point 1, if not you're going to get confused on who to listen to

4. You might fail someway or another, maybe it's a drop that flopped or something...but try not to let it get to you! (I'm thinking about for creatives here brw) it definitely can get very disappointing but the key is to never stop creating and doing what you do, and let your page continue to grow. Things will fall into the right place
