Lately my life has been a mind field of stress and anxiety. I stopped caring for myself after a while and the only way to keep up with simple habits are these things. Eventually I’ll be in a mental state for the high maintenance for low maintenance ways but for now I’m trying to keep up with simple habits and tasks just so I don’t drown myself. I see a lot of unachievable things on this app so I thought I could make a realistic post for people who are in the same state as I am.

Waking up at 7am

- by forcing myself to do this I feel more accomplished and not lazy.

Making my bed every day

- by doing this I’ve completed at least one task today

Brushing my teeth twice per day

- I need to care for my teeth because it’s the most basic task we’ve learned at a young age and it’s essential for anyone.

Washing my face at least once per day

- sometimes it’s hard to wash my face in the morning because of low energy so most mornings I wipe my face with witch hazel water, put sun screen on, and go about my day. At night is when I care about my skin with a full routine.

Drinking water most of the day

- I avoid drinking soda or juices because water is most accessible and it gives you energy.

Showering every night

- I get anxious about smelling bad so cleaning the essentials is bare minimum.

3 Affirmations and gratitudes daily

- I have intentions I would like to keep up with and i like to remember what little things I’m grateful for that day. (Like making my bed so it looks cleaner in my room, eating 3 full meals, etc)

Cleaning up my mess daily

- when depressed people live they end up with messy rooms that make it more depressing (I know from experience) so the only way to avoid stress and sadness is to clean up what little mess I’ve started (as my mom taught me).

Another thing is eating 3 meals until I’m full. This is difficult and i’m forgetful so I set reminders to eat.
