Reasons to Co-own a dog with your partner 🐶❤️

January 2023, to commemorate 2 years of our relationship, my gf and I made the decision to get our little boy Kumo, which was easily the best decision we ever made together!! 😊

He has brought us so much joy and comfort, inspiring me to write this post sharing about why co-parenting a pet might be the next step to take in your relationships ❣️

REASON 1: (More outings/activities together)

- Let’s be honest, due to our limited land, there’s only a finite amount of couple activities to do in Singapore.

- Getting a pet increases the amount of activities/events to participate in!

- We’ve attended multiple dog parties with Kumo, made many new friends and more regularly gotten our couch potato asses off to explore the different parks and dog friendly cafes with him 🐾

REASON 2: (Provides companionship)

- Kumo’s the perfect companion to chill with when one of us is busy!

- As I’m often occupied with work, gym, friends & travels, Kumo keeps my gf company and in good spirits ☺️.

- He’s quite clingy and seeks to follow us everywhere all the time!

REASON 3: (Provides shared responsibilities & purpose)

- In terms of individual lifestyle, we actually differ in many ways (you could say ‘opposites attract’ ☺️)

- Having Kumo has given us a united purpose, which is to take care of him and provide him the best life we possibly can.

- We each have our own unique roles in taking care of him (of course, we do help each other out whenever we can)

- It actually simulates what it would be like to have a family together in future, and allows us to assess our compatibility to have a life & family together!

*IMPORTANT*

DO NOT GET A DOG:

- If you’re not financially ready for one. ( Vet & grooming fees can be hefty if you do not have the right connections 💸💸)

- If you do not have the time to commit to one. ( think of them as a baby that never grows up, they’ll require your love & care for the rest of their lives )

- If your relationship’s not stable ( a dog can enhance your relationship, it won’t salvage a broken one!!!)
