cafe hopping series: french pastry cafe in outram!

i found this small cute & cozy cafe at kampong bahru road by chance!! it sells fresh handmade pastries, coffee, signature drinks (their iced yuzu matcha is popular!!), and other mains!!

INTERIOR

the space was decorated in the basic minimal white & wood theme with many round tables and stools! there’s a small corner with their cute bread stuff toys to take picture at as well hehe

FOOD & DRINKS

Mushroom Soup & Sourdough (half portion): i was really surprised at how good this was!! the soup was seasoned perfectly with the salt & pepper ratio being just nice, it was the perfect amount of creaminess, and the mushroom taste was delicious!! it was served warm straight from the kitchen as well🫶🏻 the sourdough was good too!! i usually don’t expect much for sourdough in sg as they are usually tough to bite but this one was perfect — crisp and easy to bite for the crust and soft + fluffy on the inside. goes so well with the mushroom soup, i really recommend getting this soup set!!! half portion is enough to fill me up

Pain Au Chocolat: visual is 😮‍💨!! she toasted it for me as well and was served warm <3 taste wise, i felt that it was alright…nothing too special but still not bad! the chocolate inside was the perfect amount and wasn’t too sweet + it went well with the croissant~ the croissant was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside but i didn’t feel like it was buttery enough for me hehe

Flat White: it was okay, just a basic flat white taste but didn’t really have a caffeine kick/taste for me

OVERALL

i would love to come back & try the other pastries!! many people came in to get the pastries for take away which surprised me!! i went there at 2pm on a Saturday and there weren’t much people dining in! i feel that it’s a great place to read a book/do work (no charger)/catch up w friends!!
