DAWN Coffee Cafe

Need a place to chill and just enjoy good quality coffee at unpretentious cafe? Dawn at 78 South Bridge Rd is the perfect place.

Having a spatial design background and a solid artisanal coffee enthusiast makes me always on the road to hunt for great coffee place; all in one. I first passed by this place a few months ago and its minimalistic facade with a steel wall lamp, lushy tree plant & wood bench caught my attention. I went in and the first thing I saw was: a stretch of artisan coffee; both their in-house and imported Manhattan Coffee Roasters blend. I have tried a few of their in house blends and I would say its a pretty good experience.

What excited me the most actually was their interiors; it was done minimally yet satisfying. Their store is very small, but the design and its layout is done gracefully without any pretence. A few highlights of it:

1. Everything is bare (lol)

Entrance as described above was complimented with a tree plant, wooden bench, and a nice stainless steel wall lamp. There is a small window as well, enough to take a glimpse on what is happening inside

2. Seating area (group)

At my first glance I thought they had a Louis Poulsen PH 3/4 pendant, but as I inspect further I am not too sure anymore, it seems that it just looks alike, but whatever lol. It compliments the one and only group seating area at the back of the café. All their seatings are made of wood which emphasis the whole Japanese & minimalistic look

3. Seating area (individual/couple)

Right in front of the counter bar there are stretches of trestle turned to stool as the seating area. I would say I am impressed as I find it does the job and unique, perfect for small spaces. Would love to bring some home :p

4. Petite Bar Counter

Hehe So i was first seated on the trestle, then requested to be move here as I wanted to inspect the counter bar area. I like that they are using stone finished look tiles with wood laminate base structure. I am not sure about the durability but ngl i would love to have my kitchen island done like this

5. Minimalistic kitchen

Same for their kitchen, with additional these pretty ceramic tiles as the backsplash with same tone colour, it unites the whole thing together and nice to look at

6. Great artisanal coffee

Apologies for the lack of pictures, I don’t normally take any when I enjoy my coffee, so here is coffee late instead that I took at my latest visit for the sake of this post :p again, they have In house coffee blends & imported ones too from Manhattan Coffee Roasters

7. Exposed Walls

There was once when I came here and just spent time looking at the walls. I remember getting strange looks from other peiple lol. Foes any of you like exposed walls? To be honest I am not too sure if this wall is intentionally fabricated or not. But i think it is 10/10
