Pumpkin Puree

It's that time of the year for all things pumpkin. Waffles, Pie, Pasta, Muffins, and so much more call for Pumpkin Puree. It's so easy to make from scratch and better for you.

1.Clean pie pumpkins, cut in quarters, and pull out all the seeds. (you can save those and roast them too!)

2. Bake on foil lined pan for 1 hour @350

3. Scrap out the 'meat' of the pumpkin

4. Mash and let strain through cheese cloth.

Every 1 3/4 cup puree is equal to one can of pumpkin puree. I freeze mine in freezer bags by this measurement and pull one out all year for savory dishes. #homestead #pumpkin #homemade #letschat #lemon8diarychallenge
