🗓️ As a party of 4, we made reservations which charges $30/pax. I don’t think there’s a need to make veryyyy much in advance because we only made our reservation 4 days before ✔️

💫 I wasn’t a fan of the layout for a party of 4, but I totally understand why it’s as such. It’s very teppanyaki style where they prepare and serve to you immediately. You can watch them prepare the food which tbh, wasn’t very interesting cos it’s just them piecing the rolls together hahaha but as a part of 4, it was difficult to converse in a straight line, which results in plentyyyy of yelling over the music too🎵No private conversations over here. It’s a nicer vibe to go as a pair imo. Couples were huddling together, talking to each other’s ears.

🍽️ I will applaud the host because he gave us excellent service. Explained the whole concept to us, and gave his suggestions too. You can either order Ala Carte or a 6 course hand rolls which you choose between Tengo (light), Jigo (spicy), or vegan. If you choose the 6 course hand rolls, you can add on kombucha 🧃or sake 🍶 as its pairing. As a non-drinker, I chose kombucha of course.

Kombucha wise, they’re decent. The colours are beautiful, but I didn’t really see how they complement the rolls. Eg. The salmon roll was matched with strawberry mint 🍓🍃 kombucha. The mentaiko made it a savoury dish, whereas the drink was veryyy sweet. Odd pairing, but I’m no food connoisseur. As long as I like the taste, I’m not one to complain.

Rolls wise, they’re pretty good. I enjoyed all, especially the Engawa. Generally when it comes to Japanese food, I opt for tuna or salmon cos it’s very easy to tell when it’s a good or bad one. But this flounder 🐟 stole the show because I was VERY amazed by it. Lovedddd it. However, even though we chose the spicy option, only the Toro was spicy. The rest were mildly spicy or not at all. So that was disappointing 🤷🏻‍♀️

Portion wise, it’ll curb your hunger, but it won’t leave you full (especially for guys). My guy friends were still hungry after this. They also served miso soup 🍲 and tamago🥚 for free at the end of the meal. I much preferred the miso soup over the tamago.

💲 $60++ per pax

📍 52 Duxton Rd, Singapore 089516. Nearest MRT: Maxwell

🤔 Would I go again? So after adding GST, and service charge, I paid $69 for everything that you see in the photos. Is it worth? Ehhh, I guess so?? They’re really good dishes, and I kinda understand the price point. But a part of me is like meh at the portion. The guys said they won’t return, they rather go to a buffet instead. Personally, I wouldn’t mind returning, but maybe not anytime soon.
