💫 Okay, I am super late to this bandwagon because I’ve never heard of this place until now. It was recommended by a colleague who said that when it opened its first outlet in Singapore, the queue was snaking long. Which was pretty hard to believe because the place was EMPTY 🤯 We’re talking zero customers except for us. Was it because it’s 1:30pm? Was it because this is Clarke Quay on a Wednesday? Maybe the hype has died leaving me trying to catch up lol 🤪🤪
🍽️ The only word I can describe this was… WOW. So, so delicious 😍🤤 I really love eating ochazuke which is essentially just rice DRENCHED in tea. Idk what soup they gave, it’s likely not even tea, but soaking the rice + unagi in it, topped with seaweed & spring onions, was chef’s kiss 🧑🍳💋 The unagi was amazingly soft, practically melted in my mouth. The smoky charred flavour wasn’t overwhelming. It was really wonderfully cooked. I think they were generous with the unagi too, because I was STUFFED after this meal. My tummy was popping out, but that’s okay cos it was worth it 😌🤎 The green tea was refillable, chawanmushi was soft and smooth. Zero complaints over here 💯 it’s not the cheapest place to dine at, but I do think it’s worth the money

🤔 Would I go again? A BIG YES!! 👏🏻 Looks are definitely deceiving. Just because the place is empty, doesn’t mean it’s a dead town. I would 100% return here, & am so happy to know that they have multiple outlets scattered throughout the city. You’ve got a returning customer!! ✋🏻☺️
