After 3 years, here’s what I learnt

I used to be so afraid of having an open kitchen!

We wanted to keep our renovation costs low so we decided not to install glass sliding/folding doors for our kitchen in the beginning. We thought we might have to eventually install it, especially with cats at home.

We knocked down our kitchen walls to accommodate a large dining table in the beginning (we’ve rearranged our home ever since). Over time, we found that we’ve experienced warmer dinners with family and friends where we can freely walk in and out of the kitchen. We don’t have to cut our conversations short because the space between cooking & dining is now shared💖

The space has also given us the flexibility of adding a kitchen island 2 years after moving in:) I’ll want a larger open space in the future!!!

Naturally, food smells will exist, but I don’t find that they linger on my furniture. Thankfully we don’t have curtains too. But it sure does help to have a strong CHIMNEY hood, air purifier and home scents! It’s best to ventilate the home well, but again, we have cats😂 Besides, I don’t find my home cooking to be stinky? I enjoy the smell of good food so I don’t think it’s a problem haha
