Don’t waste money on your WHOLE curl routine 🚫💸😊😊

As a curly girlie, I have alw wanted a good list of curl friendly products I can get immediately at the drugstores in SG. COZ let’s be real, most products are targeted towards shiny straight hair which makes life SO HARD for us curly girlies.

SO HERE IS MY FIRST AFFORDABLE-ish curly hair routine you can get in Watsons/guardian/shopee and start your journey asap :))

🪜the steps you need

Before I recc the products, here are all the steps you need in a typical curl routine. Good shampoo, leave-in conditioner (not regular conditioner), curl cream (you won’t need this if your hair is healthy alr), gel and oil!!

🧴My fave shampoo

Currently, my fave affordable shampoo is the L’Oreal ever pure shampoo that has rosemary in it!! I finsihed my first bottle of it after around 6-8 months of using it which is honestly SO WORTH. you don’t need to use much even after double washing .

It is honestly quite gentle so my hair didn’t fall as much and was clean enough to only wash my hair around 3 times a week.

🧴leave in conditioner

I personally prefer leave-in instead of regular conditioner because it is so much more nourishing and can keep my hair hydrated throughout my non-wash days. Theyre also super light weight and help me skip on curl cream.

This Kristin Ess leave in has very similar ingredients to my all time fave inner sense leave in. It has a lot of natural ingredients which are nourishing and the best part is that it comes in a spray bottle. This can help you apply it evenly throughout your hair and not waste much product.

🧴curl cream

when I first started off my curl journey, I used the Shea moisture curl cream. It is also one of the most nourishing but light creams I’ve used. HOWEVER, I personally stopped using it now because leave in is nourishing enough for me. So yes, you won’t need this product if you find that leave in is enough.

🧴gel

It’s so so so hard to find curl friendly hair gel in Singapore store 😭😭😭. But I have finally found one which works really well, the grafen sea water pomade.

Yes, it is a men’s product but hear me out. It doesn’t have a very strong “male scent.” It does have a fresh scent but it is super faint and doesn’t smell like anything after it dries down.

The best part, it dries completely transparent, doesn’t flake off and doesn’t make your hair super dry and crunchy. It is the perfect amount of hold for your curls AND washes off easily whenevr you wash your hair!! Truly so good and you only need a tiny blueberry sized amount of product for medium length (a bit longer than shoulders).

🧴OIL

The FINAL step is of course the oil to break the cast set by your gel. You can honestly use any oil that isn’t greasy but my personal drugstore fave is the L’Oreal elseve one. It is super similar to the kerastese oil at a fraction of the price. And as a bonus, it smells really good.
