I think at some point in our lives, we all struggle with getting our sleep schedule on track. Here are some tips I like to incorporate into my nightly routine for those periods where I am struggling to get my sleep schedule back on track!
Meditate ~ meditation helps to boost natural melatonin levels which help to improve sleep
Eat well balanced meals ~ it’s best to avoid sugary foods before bed. Having balanced meals is also a great way to get your body back into routine and on it’s sleep schedule. I like having a variety of color, including vegetables and protein in my dinner
Read ~ reading before bed is also a great way to unwind from the day and has also been found to help improve sleep
Avoid working out close to your bedtime ~ if you enjoy evening workouts, try to space it out so that your workouts fall between 1-2 hours before you plan on going to bed
Create a sleep schedule ~ this may sound mundane, but try to go to bed around the same time each night (I promise this will eventually get easier over time) and shoot for 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night
