Why is this mochi so expensive?

Traditionally, warabimochi was made from Warabiko, Bracken starch. This substance is rare and expensive so nowadays, you don't see it around anymore.

We gave this mochi a taste test and we love it! If you love muaychee from pasar malam, you will tend to compare both of these. What I feel it’s different from usual muaychee was the fine soybean powder coating on the SUPER SOFT chewy jelly-like mochi. It is soft and slightly slimy, giving it a subtle texture of chewy goodness ✨
