Day Trip from NYC (by train 🚆!) - Greenport 🍷

1. Departure from Manhattan:

Start your day early to make the most of your trip (check to see when the train is running, too!). Take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from Grand Central to Greenport. The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. 🚆

2. Arrival in Greenport:

Once you arrive in Greenport, start by exploring the village on foot. Greenport is a charming coastal town with a rich maritime history and plenty of things to see and do.

3. Winery Tour:

Greenport is located in the heart of Long Island's wine region, so take advantage and stop off at some wineries! You can either arrange a wine tour or visit a couple of wineries on your own. The ones I’ve been to (and would recommend!) are Kontokosta Winery, The Old Field Vineyards, and Sparkling Pointe. 🍷

4. Lunch:

Enjoy lunch on the water! I’d recommend PORT, which has some coastal classics (Lobster Roll 👀🦞) and is right in the heart of Greenport, along the water.

5. Departure to Manhattan:

Take the LIRR back to Manhattan from Greenport. Make sure to check the train schedules in advance to plan your return journey!
