How my hobby stopped me from biting my nails 💅🏼

I have been biting my nails my whole life and have tried everything to stop but couldn’t. During lockdown period, I was bored out of my mind so I started experimenting with doing my own nails 😗

🍋 Polygel

Started with polygel as a means of extending my short ass nails, but bc I have no prior experience, it turned out to be uneven/thick/no shape. I also didn’t have proper equipment and polish so the set never lasts long. But I was so happy to have something that resembles actual nails that I started trying out other methods.

🍋 Press on nails

This took way less time to do compared to the polygel and was relatively cheap. Ordered a bunch of cute designs off Shopee but I didn’t like how “fake” & matte it looked (I also didn’t know filing was a thing hence the weird rectangular shape).

🍋 Self Drawn Designs

Decided to take matters into my own hands by painting on transparent press on nails. I experimented with different art styles and nail shapes to find my preference.

As I get more experience, I tested new techniques or try to replicate something I’ve seen online.

Though I still chew on my fake nails here and there, it gradually got better as there were no satisfaction biting on plastic 🤡 However, this made my nails soft and brittle. Now that I have grown my nails to an ideal length, my next goal would be to get it strong and healthy!
