Best beef wellington at the prettiest place? 🍖🤤

If you're in the mood for classic British cuisine with a touch of elegance, The English House by Marco Pierre White is the place to go. Psst, chef, Marco Pierre White was chef Gordon Ramsay's mentor! 🫣 It is located in a beautifully restored colonial building on Mohamed Sultan Road, a destination for those who value culinary traditions from a past period. It is one of Singapore's most beautiful restaurants I have ever dined at, and its reputation is well-deserved! 🤩🤩

One of the menu's highlights is the 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 ($168 for 2!! what a steal!✨), a classic that never goes out of style. Please note that they will take about 40 minutes to cook. The first bite was genuinely memorable and left me thoroughly impressed. The beef is cooked to perfection, covered in truffle, tender and juicy, and wrapped in a delicate buttery, flaky, and crispy layer of pastry (best wellies' pastry so far). Although the intense flavours might sound too much, they all came together in perfect harmony. ❤️ The dish is served with a side of mushroom duxelles and a red wine jus that add depth and richness to the flavours. It's a truly satisfying dish that is perfect for sharing. It is the best beef wellington in Singapore imo! I am craving it again as I type this out… 🫠 For those who don't take beef, you can try their salmon or chicken wellies instead.

I ordered the 🌽 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐩 (no longer on the menu) and 🌭 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥 ($10 per piece) for starters. The soup is simple but incredibly flavorful. The soup is creamy and smooth, with a subtle sweetness from the corn. It's a comforting dish perfect for a cold or rainy day. The sausage roll is a must-try. The pastry is crisp and golden, with a savoury filling of pork and herbs that is hearty and flavorful. It's a great appetizer or snack that will leave you wanting more (I even ordered more).

The atmosphere is charming, with warm and inviting decor that transports you to a different era. 🧳 The English House offers a sophisticated, cosy atmosphere that perfectly complements its delicious and well-executed dishes. It was a magical dining experience! They also serve Hong Kong cuisine and high-rated fish and chips, which I want to try on my next visit. Bring your date to this ever-romantic for a date night or any special occasion!! 😉

The English House also offers diner-exclusive to view the priceless mementoes, works of art, and cultural artefacts that Anthony Bourdain collected while travelling the globe as a part of the restaurant's collection! Also, there are a lot of spots for you to take OOTD pics too! 😋 Remember to take a picture at the doorstep if you visit during the day.
