do overnight heatless curls actually work? 🤔

i’ve alw loved curly hair, but ever since i bleached my hair twice back in 2020, i knew that i wouldn’t be able to get a perm for the longest time 🥲 personally, i don’t rly like using a curling rod or straightener either bcos of 1) the heat damage & 2) i’m just not good at it 😅 so as a result, i started looking for alternative heatless curls methods! after trying out numerous methods, i finally settled on my fav which requires the least effort imo, & lasts all day too! ❤️‍🔥

1. after washing ur hair, let it dry completely before putting it into a French braid. while it doesn’t have to be super tight, do note that the tighter it is, the tighter ur curls will be & they’ll likely last longer too!

2. go to bed 😴 (don’t worry abt moving around too much in ur sleep, ur braid should still be in place throughout the night)

3. unravel the braid once ure ready to start ur day! i usually leave mine on all the way until i get off the bus & am walking to my destination to maximise the duration of it being braided 😅

personally, i love this method bcos i just have to spend a few mins braiding my hair at night & then go to bed. it’s a super fuss-free method!! the braid is also actl surprisingly comfy to sleep in too so i don’t rly feel it when i sleep! 🤍 also, if the curls are too tight for ur liking once u’ve taken out the braid, u can alw comb ur fingers thru & shake ur head to loosen the curls. but not to worry, they’ll slowly loosen up on their own throughout the day & will look more natural 🤩

🍋 i find that these curls typically last me a good 10h where it’s still pretty wavy by the end of the night, so i think it’s a great method if anyone is looking to obtain heatless, overnight curls w minimal effort! 🥹 do let me know if u have other methods to obtain heatless curls as i would love to hear them! 🫶
