Here’s how I make mine⬇️

Ingredients

For the Cake:

• 1 cup butter, softened

• 2 cups granulated sugar

• 4 large eggs

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon baking powder

• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

• 1/4 teaspoon salt

• 1 cup sour cream

• 1/2 cup dark rum

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 1 teaspoon almond extract

• 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

• 1 cup dark raisins( optional)

• 1 cup chopped prunes(optional)

• 1 cup mixed candied fruits (optional)

For the Glaze:

• 1/2 cup butter

• 1/4 cup water

• 1 cup granulated sugar

• 1/2 cup dark rum

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven:

• Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.

2. Prepare the Cake Batter:

• In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

• Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

• In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

• Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.

• Stir in the dark rum, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.

• Fold in the nuts (if using), raisins, prunes, and candied fruits.

3. Bake the Cake:

• Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.

• Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

• Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

4. Prepare the Glaze:

• In a saucepan, combine the butter, water, and sugar over medium heat.

• Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

• Remove from heat and stir in the dark rum.

5. Glaze the Cake:

• While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over it using a skewer or fork.

• Slowly pour the glaze over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

• Let the cake sit for at least an hour to absorb the glaze fully.

6. Serve:

• Slice and serve the cake as desired. Enjoy!
