Spacious and clean hotel near JB CIQ 🤩

I just came back from JB over the weekend! I wanted to pamper myself a little instead of staying at an airb&b so I stayed at this hotel and really enjoyed my stay! If you’re heading to JB over the weekend, here’s an affordable hotel you should try staying at!

📍 Address: 18 Jalan Wong Ah Fook

💸 Cost: ~ $35-60 per person depending on room type, booking platform, booking period (my trip mate and I spent $48 per person!)

⭐️ Hotel type: 3 star hotel 🤩

🛏️ Room type we got: Deluxe Twin Room

- Hotel gym

- Shower with rain shower ✨

- Powerful Hairdryer

- Iron and ironing board

- Standard toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, comb, conditioning shampoo and body soap

- Kettle

- Complementary bottled water, coffee and tea

- TV with Netflix (need to sign in into your own account)

- Wheelchair accessible

💖 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞

- The bedsheets are surprisingly VERY smooth!!

- The rain shower 😍😍

- Very spacious room and toilet!!

- Generally clean space!

- Our view! Honestly had low expectations but we got a nice view of Jalan Wong Ah Fook and the night bazaar across the road

- Very helpful and friendly staff, especially the staff who manages the traffic outside and directs your Grab rides to the pickup point

💔 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 (but don’t mind!)

- The provided soap and shampoo seemed a bit dodgy like the bottles looked like they were already opened or reused.

- The walls by the adjacent room are thin so you can hear your neighbours and their TV. Thankfully, we only started hearing our neighbours the day after a good night’s sleep!

- Might face a jam when going back at night bc Jalan Wong Ah Fook area usually is busy. A lot of cars drive by the road to go to R&F

🗺️ 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲

- Located at Jalan Wong Ah Fook which is pretty much the hipster area of JB

- Walking distance from well known cafes, thrift shops and shopping malls

- Walking distance from CIQ

- Near night bazaars: Bazaar opposite Z Hotel and R&F Chill Day Night Market

💡 Do book the hotel in advance to avoid paying more or them running out of rooms!

💡 Also book through cashback apps or when there are sales to save some money 🤩🤩

Overall, I think this is a good option if you only want to spend time near the city/check point area!
