I’m a professionally trained chef who was once a novice home cook. During my time at culinary school I learned a couple practical tips that have completely elevated my cooking not just in the commercial kitchen but in my home kitchen 👩🏻‍🍳

✅ Mise en place before you begin cooking

✅ Invest in quality tools (knives, pans, cutting boards, etc) *there’s no need for silly gadgets!

✅ Get your knives sharpened every 4-6 months and use a honing steel before every knife use (this redefines the edge of your knife which results in you not needing to sharpen as often)

✅ Quality produce and meats improve the overall quality of your final dish. Quality comes from quality, don’t skimp on something you want to taste amazing

✅ Try new and out of the box recipes! You’ll put your skills to the test and taste new flavors!

✅ Take cooking classes, watch good home cooks, learn from other professional chefs. Ask lots of questions!!
