being in a sorority:

what i loved❤️:

• i made friends i will have FOR LIFE. like i met my future bridesmaids and i met my best friend.

•i had a community that i found support and found that support for a long time!

•i loved that it is so inclusive and welcoming

•i was able to bring my boyfriend to functions and show him greek life!

•i was given the opportunity to be a director and work alongside exec (my big) to see how the chapter functions!

what i hated💔:

•dues. i was paying for my dues myself so it really became costly and i couldn’t afford to pay all my dues on time even with a payment plan! i’m in nursing school so i don’t have time to get a job and sorority and keep up with school. that is SO much!

•schedule! i felt like i had NO free time! everything was either school or sorority. everything was also mandatory so if i didn’t go i got fined!

•drama! like any other group of girls you’re going to run into people you don’t get along with, and that’s okay! it only was so negative for me because the main girl i didn’t get along with was my roommate so it was hard to escape! normally it’s very easy to keep your space between you and the sister you don’t get along with! my experience won’t be everyone’s experience!

•leadership change. i really loved the leadership and president and vp when i first joined but as the elections passed and we got new people in charge i had issues!! i disliked some of the people in charge because they were either very hard to get ahold of, not understanding or just plain rude!!

ALL IN ALL, my experience with greek life was life changing and i absolutely loved it! i always tell girls to try it out to see if it’s for you!
