Rouen, France 🇫🇷

For those looking for a day trip out of Paris, Rouen is a must!

Most famous for being the death place of Joan of Arc (Joan D’Arc), famous French martyr. The quaint but charming town boasts years of history and amazing architecture.

My recommended itinerary:

Le Gros-Horloge

A 14th-century astronomical clock sitting on a Renaissance arch in the middle of town.

Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen

Rouen’s 12th-century gothic cathedral is a sight to behold with its impressive structure.

Maison Vatelier - Rouen

An unassuming pastry shop with the most amazing raspberry croissant and colorful financiers! (Please absolutely get the financiers you will not regret)

place du Vieux-Marché

The square where Joan of Arc was burnt in 1431. There is a modern church here dedicated to her and they even marked the exact spot where she was burnt. Aside from the tragic history, this is such a beautiful and lovely place to visit.

In December, there is also a little christmas market in front of the cathedral. Just lovely festive atmospheres all around ☺️

This was a stop on my France roadtrip but you can also take a SNCF train here from Paris.
