how i double cleanse with dry, eczema-prone skin

I have been having red, dry and flaky spots on my face and it stayed on my face despite constantly moisturising and being consistent with my skincare until I tried double cleansing with new these 2 new cleansing products! Because of the dry spots on my face, I noticed that my skincare was not absorbing as well due to the buildup of dry skin so I decided to try double cleansing hoping it would help to break down the layer of dry skin.

🫧 SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil

It was my first time trying a cleansing oil and I’m normally quite hesitant to try out new cleansers because of how sensitive my skin is. The cleansing oil was light and not too oily so it was easy to wash off and while cleansing my face I could feel the dry skin and whatever extra layer that was on top of my skin breaking down. I also normally use the cleansing oil to remove my makeup and it does a good job of making sure everything comes off. I used to use cleansing balms but I prefer using a cleansing oil now as I feel the oil helps to keep my face moisturised as well while doing a thorough cleanse.

I use the foam cleanser next which is from the same line as the cleansing oil. I normally avoid foam cleansers as I’m afraid that it may make my skin even drier snd strip off my natural oils. But this cleanser didn’t do that for me! Instead, my skin felt more refreshed and soft and not tight and dry - a clean canvas for my skincare to seep in.

After double cleansing, I then go on with my usual skincare routine which I have shared about in another post and the next day I woke up to both the dryness and redness on my skin totally GONE and my skin looking more clear and radiant as well! This double cleansing method really helped as I felt that it allowed the rest of my skincare products be easily absorbed into my face. The difference between when I double cleanse and when I don’t is clearly noticeable and I can feel easily feel the difference as well with the way my skin feels.
