how i planned my bf’s birthday surprise in JB

For my boyfriend’s birthday this year I decided to surprise him with a short JB trip but the REAL surprise is that his friends will be there too! Well, context is my boyfriend and his army friends wanted to do an ORD trip but due to some commitments he is not able to go on a trip with them which is why I wanted to do this surprise for him (and also because I know he loves his bros more than me LOL)

The BIG PLAN:

I waited for him to come home in the noon and once he was homed, I immediately blindfolded him and got him to wear AirPods while we hopped into a cab. Man had no clue where we were going initially until midway where he kept trying to guess and I just decided to tell him because he was being annoying :p

I had his friends enter JB at a different timing from us so that we won’t bump into each other and told them to collect the cake and head to the Airbnb first so that when we arrived, my boyfriend will be surprised!

How it actually went:

Fella did not suspect a single thing throughout and he was still telling me he would have to cancel his birthday plans with his friends but little did he know… However, when we were checking in the Airbnb, the plan almost got exposed because he saw his friend’s name in the guest check in book but I just lied to him saying that I got his friend to help me book 🤣 In the end, surprise was a success because he was so shocked to see all his friends and fella was so happy to see them 🙄🙄🙄 BUT YAY surprise success!!!

What we did afterwards:

🏎️ Go-kart @ GT Karting (near Mount Austin)

My boyfriend likes go-karting and he always told his friends about how they should go together so I thought I should just make it happen for him. Fella had a lot of fun and even went 3 rounds. However, the track here isn’t that big… 1 lap is around 30-35 seconds ish? But a fun group activity for the boys 👍

🍴Dinner & Lok Lok (Mount Austin)

I honestly forgot where we ate but it was at Mount Austin and there’s plenty of food options in that area. We had hotpot & lok lok for dinner 😋

🎤 Karaoke

After dinner, it was quite late already and we just went to sing K for 3 hours and called it a night 😴

The day after:

My boyfriend’s friends headed back home after singing K although our Airbnb could accommodate them but they all mostly had stuff to do the next day so they decided to head back first. My boyfriend and I spent the night and after we checked out the next day, we went to have breakfast at The Toast (Mount Austin) - a good breakfast spot followed by shopping at City Square Mall before heading back.

Overall, I was super pleased with how the surprised turned out especially because I was so nervous about how it will actually turn out. Besides, I’m glad that we went to JB because there are more things to do and food options there for all of us. Would highly recommend staying at Mount Austin too since there is really a lot of things around the area 💯
