HIDDEN GEM: Casual Korean Fusion Bar in Bugis!

Joo Bar is a casual dining joint serving up Korean food with a modern twist! Service was 👌 and food was brought promptly to the table while still piping hot. The restaurant spans three storeys, and exudes dark and moody vibes with music playing in the background - great for laid-back hangouts with friends as it may get a bit noisy.

Seafood Soft Tofu Stew ($24)

If you're a fan of bold flavours, you won't want to miss this seafood stew! The broth is loaded with a variety of fresh seafood and served simmering from a flame under the pot.

Gochugaru Fried Chicken ($18)

Perfectly fried chicken thighs tossed with chilli spice. Just a tad dry but not complaining cause it's one of those things where even when there's no chicken left, the table was scraping up the fried bits and chomping them down.

Seafood Rapokki ($22)

Think army stew but more gao (thick). One of the best korean stews we've had!

Wagyu Bomb ($38)

We ordered this dish when a waiter walked past us bringing it to another table. The aroma tempted us and we ordered ourselves one. The cubes of beef were super tender coupled with the spring onion soaking up all the juices, and the crisp garlic chips, this is a winner for us!

Sojurita ($30)

This drink was more toward the sweet side (we had green grape flavour) but that's how I like my alcohol. 🤭 Try to ensure a good blend of beer and soju while drinking! Very refreshing especially in between all the hot dishes.

Overall it was a superb experience but on the slightly pricier side as the servings were quite small. But still definitely worth it & we'll be back again! Let me know in the comments if you have other must-try Korean food recs!
