Why did I decide to work with children?

Hello! I am Celest and have been working with children for the past 5-6 years, and currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood in SUSS.

I first decided to work with children because of a suggestion that my secondary school teacher made. She thought that it would suit me, and since I had nothing I was passionate about, I thought I would just try it. But it changed my life.

I took a diploma in Temasek Polytechnic - Early Childhood Development and Education. During this period, I realised my passion for teaching children and interacting with them. It gave me a huge sense of satisfaction and joy. Although, it was very tiring and draining at times, I truly enjoyed my time with children.

For those who are hesitating into entering this industry, I would encourage all of you to just try 💪🏻. If anything, you can pursue something else in university. The joy of seeing the children smile and say “thank you”, “I love you” and “I miss you” is unbeatable 🥹🥰
